STUDENT INFO           

·      Link Crew applications are due TODAY. Make sure you swing by Ms. Hutchinson’s Room 20 or Ms. Fields’ office if you’re interested in being a Link Leader next year.

·      To ensure payment before the close of the school year, please submit requests for checks or reimbursements to the ASB Finance Office by June 5. We will accept payment requests until June 12; however those received after June 5 may not receive their payment until late June. Remember that all reimbursement requests must include ORIGINAL ITEMIZED receipts. Copies of receipts will not be accepted. Also please be advised that purchase of gift cards for any reason cannot be reimbursed. Clubs should not be carrying a large balance into the new school year. Plan your activities and turn in your expenses NOW.

·      Attention students: Please feel free to come by the Cafeteria at lunch TODAY or tomorrow, June 2, to vote for the 2017-2018 MCHS Planner Design.

·      Congratulations to the cast and crew of Oklahoma! They have been selected one of three schools to perform at the Jerry Herman Awards on the Pantages stage Monday night, June 5. They have also received nine nominations!

·      Mandatory meeting for next year’s AP Studio Art students TODAY at lunch in Room 62.

·      Need to make a schedule change for 2017-18? Check miracostahigh.org or your MBUSDapps account for access to the online schedule change form. It will be available TODAY, 5/30 through 6/5.

·      Incoming Juniors and Seniors finalizing classes with your counselors for next year: Honors Earth Science through UCLA is the class for you! Located right here at Mira Costa in Room 238, it is the only Dual Credit class (high school and college credit) at Mira Costa. The *transcript can earn you credit to another college, even if you do not go to UCLA. No AP exam. Four major fields of study are astronomy, oceanography, meteorology and geology! Boost your GPA! See Mr. Kurz, UCLA Instructor Honors Earth Science in Room 238 or email [email protected] for more details. Edutainer of the year 2003, 2005-2017. *College credit is optional; students should check transferability with the undergraduate admissions office at the college of their choice.

·      Pick up the wrong tux at prom? Missing: Black, slim-fit, one-button tux. Please return to Mrs. Claypoole in the ASB room. She has a black, two-button tux that may be yours!

·      Attention Freshmen taking AP Euro next school year:  Mandatory meeting at lunch in Room 223 TODAY, June 1 to discuss class details and assignments.

·      Students may pick up lost and confiscated items from Prom in the admin office at snack or lunch only.

SENIORS

·      If you were unable to pick up your cap & gown last Thursday, see Ms. Gardner in the main office TODAY at snack, lunch or after school ONLY.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·      Do you like cookies and/or taking naps? Then come to Room 20 at lunch this Friday for the last meeting of Cookie and Nap Club for this year. Bring some friends and your lunch. Cookies and some blankets provided.

·      Come to the Animal Shelter Club Fridays at lunch in Mrs. Clarke’s Room 55 to help dogs and cats of all ages find their forever homes.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      Attention Seniors – If you have not turned in your Senior Clearance documents, you need to come to the CCC TODAY TO COMPLETE THIS PROCESS. This applies to ALL SENIORS, whether you plan on attending school in the fall, taking a gap year, working, joining the military or traveling.

·      Applying to College 101 Series presented in the CCC:

            -Understanding the Selective College Admission Process – TONIGHT at 6:00 pm

            -International and Out of State College Options – June 1 at 2:00 pm

This series will be most helpful for Juniors; however all are welcome to attend. Please RSVP on Naviance under “College Visits.”
