· Hey Mustangs!! Don’t forget to dress up for Spirit Week! TODAY: Team Tuesday; Thursday: Would you still be my friend if…?, so wear your wackiest outfit; Homecoming Friday: Super Stampede!
· Want to become a politically active young adult? Want to get your presidential candidate into office? Or maybe just help change the community? Then come and register to vote at the LA Youth Vote table this week in the main quad at lunch. Even if you’re only 16 or 17, you may still pre-register!
· Thursday is “Will you still be my friend if…?” Day! Dress up in crazy and tacky ways with mix match items to see if your friends will still be your friends.
· October is Bullying Prevention Month. Please join the HEART program in spreading Random Acts of Kindness this week on Monday, Thursday and Friday during homeroom all across MCHS!
· Are you interested in going into an engineering field? Get experience in mechanical, electrical and environmental engineering by joining the Solar Cup team. Help build a solar powered boat and race it in the Solar Cup. Come to an informational meeting on Thursday, Oct. 13 at lunch in Room 242, or see Mr. Oystrick.
· Homecoming Dance is this Saturday at 7:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now at the Student Store or the ASB Webstore. Ticket prices: with ASB Marker – single $17, couple $30; without ASB Marker – single $19, couple $34. Bring ID card to buy tickets.

· Come to the pool to see Costa Boys’ Water Polo (Div. 1) play Peninsula High School TODAY (10/11) - Varsity Game @ 3pm, JV & Frosh/Soph after! The “World Famous Snack Shack” will be cooking up Teriyaki Chicken Bowls, hamburgers, quesadillas and more.... The 47th Annual Henry Stuart South Bay Tournament is this Friday & Saturday! Lots of great games to watch starting at 3pm - plus we will be selling our local favorite pizza slices from MANHATTAN PIZZERIA!! YUM!
· Join the Mira Costa Girls’ Volleyball team Wednesday, Oct. 12 as they take on Mater Dei at Mira Costa. FS/JV/V at 4:30/5:30/6:30. It’s their “Dig Pink!” event, where the girls will join forces with volleyball teams across the country to raise money to help find a cure for breast cancer. All proceeds will go to the Side-Out Foundation. We will have raffle tickets, silent auction items and other ways to make donations. Wear something pink and come out to cheer the girls on! Think Pink!

The CCC is now open from 8am until 7pm. We hope you’ll take advantage of the extra hours and our extended services!

*College Application Workshop Wednesdays from 2:00-7:00pm. Walk in and work on your college applications and personal statements with support from a CCC counselor. Bring a device or reserve one in the CCC.
*Ninth Grade Planning Meetings – 6-7pm on multiple dates to accommodate small groups: 10/20, 27; 11/1, 9, 15; 12/1, 5, 14. 9th grade planning, 4-year planning graduation requirements, A-G College entrance requirements, academic goals, extracurricular activities, how to stay in touch. · SCROC is now enrolling for its 9-week courses. Classes begin Monday, Nov. 14. Sign up in the Career Center to speak with a SCROC advisor and pick up an application.

PJ Test Prep is offering Free SAT/ACT Tests on Saturday, Nov. 19 and Sunday, Dec. 4 starting at 10:00am.
