STUDENT INFO
· The last day to sign up for the futsol tournament is tomorrow, 2/14. Bring $10, teams of 5 people with 1 alternate.
· Scholar Quiz sign-ups will be held on Wednesday, Mar. 1 beginning at 6:45 am in the Auditorium lobby on a first-come, first-served basis. All grades are welcome. Please fill out the Team Entry form (available on the Mira Costa website) and bring it with you. Forms will also be available in the office. We are limited to 64 teams. Competition dates are March 29, 30, 31 and April 3, 4, 5.
· Need community service? Or just want to have FUN? Be part of history and paint with Portraits of Hope by helping with their newest civic art project, “Promoting Pet Adoption through Animal Shelter Revitalizations.” Sign up NOW for their Sat/Sun painting sessions at [email protected]. CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
· Money can’t buy happiness, but I would rather cry in a Bentley. Come to Investors’ Club every Tuesday in Room 225.
· Submit poetry, prose, or photography to [email protected] to be featured in our annual publication. Reflections is the literary and artistic magazine for Mira Costa, and we meet every Monday (TODAY) in Room 207.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER
· Visits in the CCC: Please sign-up on Naviance. If the visit is during class time, please get permission from your teacher to attend.
o TODAY, Feb. 13 – Boeing Internship Mandatory Meeting at 5:30 – 7:00pm in the CCC.
o Tuesday, Feb. 14 – Santa Monica College at 1:00pm.
o Tuesday, Feb. 21 – Washington State Univ. at 12:31pm.
o Wednesday, Feb. 22 – USC School of Cinematic Arts at 12:20pm.
o Thursday, Feb. 23 – Univ. of Alabama at 12:20pm.
· El Camino College Applicants – If you have completed your ECC assessment testing, you can now set up an individual appointment to meet with an ECC Counselor in the CCC. Appointments are available on Wednesdays beginning on Feb. 22 at 12:20pm – 2:40pm. Sign-up is required and is available in the CCC.
· Career Speaker Series Professionals in various industries will visit the CCC to speak about their careers and the path they took to get there. This is a great opportunity to learn about different careers and the steps you need to take to gain opportunities for internships and to land your dream job. Please sign-up on Naviance or in the CCC. All grade levels are welcome! Watch the bulletin for additional speakers. February speakers:
