    Location: MCHS Fisher Gym

    Mira Costa Girls Volleyball

    Freshman Tryouts

    July 5th –July 8th from 3 – 5pm (time may change)

    Any player trying out for the team must attend at least 2 of the 4 tryout times. Players will be notified if they made the team the night of July 8th. Tryouts are held in the Mira Costa Fisher Gym.

    All players on the team are required to enroll in the Summer School Volleyball class.

    Other Important dates:

    July 9th – Volleyball Team Meeting – players & parents (am)
    Beach photo shoot – (pm)

    July 19th - Practice begins for all teams

    August 9th - Varsity goes to Hawaii tournament

    August 19th - Last day of summer practice - Freshman & JV

    August 23rd - Fall Practice begins for ALL teams

  • 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM: MCHS 60th Anniversary

    Calling All Mustang Alumni!


    Dear MCHS Alum,
     
    Mira Costa is turning 60! That is a milestone worth celebrating—and you’re invited, so please join us for the best party of the decade on Saturday, July 24th at Waller Stadium. This will be an epic gathering of Mustangs from the last sixty years. Don’t miss your chance to reconnect with old friends and teachers. Meet, greet, eat, take tours of the campus, visit the Memorial Wall and swap stories with old buddies—all for free. Play golf on Friday; renew old friendships on Saturday and hit the beach on Sunday--a three-day weekend in your hometown with lifelong friends. It doesn’t get any better than this.
     
    Admission is free. On-site parking is not available (special handicapped drop-off provided). Bus shuttle service provided 9am-4:30pm from Northrop-Grumman at intersection of Marine & Aviation.
     
    Please support the school campus policy of a tobacco/alcohol/drug-free environment.
     
    Here’s the schedule for Saturday:
    • 9am: Shuttle service starts from Northrop Grumman parking lot (Aviation and MB Blvd)
    • 10am: Gates open with entertainment by the Award-winning Mira Costa Choir
    • 11am: Opening ceremony (with special guest speakers)
    • 1pm: Groundbreaking for new math/science building
    • Throughout the day
      • Tents including a faculty tent will be set up in Waller Stadium by 1950’s thru 2000’s
      • Campus memory walks
      • Breakfast, lunch and drinks at the Football Booster snack stand
      • Memorial wall paying tribute to a MCHS family members or friends
      • Mira Costa Choir & Band as well as several Alumni bands for entertainment
      • Mira Costa sports teams host family sporting activities
      • Mira Costa gear available for sale
    • After 6pm: The party continues at off-site gatherings

    MCHS 60th Anniversary Evening Get-Togethers – Following the day’s activities at the school, alumni will be getting together by decade, at various locations for drinks and snacks. The following are the locations for each decade:

    La Vista All-Class Newsletter/Reflections – Calling all news hounds!  The Beach Reporter and Michael McAvin (Class of ’83 and Advisor of LaVista) have graciously offered to help us put together a special reunion edition of La Vista for the 60th reunion celebration.
