Audrey Lee, a junior violinist and member of the Mira Costa Orchestras, recently auditioned and was accepted to perform with the American Youth Symphony. AYS is usually comprised of college or graduate music performance majors, averaging 23 years of age. The auditions for violinists are especially competitive, so earning a spot as a high school student is an exceptional feat.
AYS performs major orchestral literature in 4 to 5 concerts per season at UCLA’s Royce Hall, as well as an annual performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Alumni from this group includes professional musicians and educators at major symphony orchestras and music schools from across the country and around the world. Congratulations Audrey for this distinguished achievement!
