Hello! I want to take some time to introduce myself and welcome you to my staff page. My name is Lisa Cook and I am an English teacher here at MCHS.

I am a native of the San Gabriel Valley and attended Arcadia High School. I graduated summa cum laude from UC Riverside with my B.A. in English and earned my English teaching credential and M.Ed from Claremont Graduate University.

I am also a volleyball coach on campus. I grew up playing club volleyball and played in both high school and college. If I’m not in my classroom, you can probably find me in the gym.

I love reading and am a total nerd when it comes to literature. I will always have a book with me no matter where I go. If you are interested to see what I’m reading, check out my page on www.goodreads.com. Some of my favorite books are The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, East of Eden by John Steinbeck and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

I live in Long Beach with my husband, Tommy, who is currently serving in the US Navy. We are high school sweethearts and have been together since our sophomore year.

I'm in room 54. Stop by any time!
