STUDENT INFO

·      ASB: The Club Council meeting will be moved to Tuesday, 12/5 due to the Winter break!

·      The Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team is hosting the PACIFIC SHORES Basketball Tournament this week! Costa will take on Rolling Hills Prep Thursday night at 7:30PM at Fisher Gym.  Please come out to support our team! Championship games will be played this Saturday, December 2 between 3:00 and 7:30pm. Please check www.costabasketball.com for Saturday’s game time. See you there! GO COSTA!

·      NEED COMMUNITY SERVICE?  Lunches with Love is collecting bagged hygiene kits AND holding our first ever TOY DRIVE in partnership with Union Rescue Mission. They have an unprecedented number of women, children, and families who are in dire need of unwrapped toys, beauty products and gift cards for all ages including teens. CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·      Come to our next GALS (Girls Advancing Leadership in STEM) Club meeting this Friday, 12/1 in Ms. Hearn’s Room 350. Our goal is to help both younger kids and ourselves learn and become involved in the STEM field. We’d love to see you there, and everyone is welcome!

·      If you are looking for a club that serves our community, look no further! The South Bay Food Initiative is hosting our intro meeting Tuesday, Dec. 5 in Room 203 of the history building (Mr. Piper’s).

·      Go to the Manhattan Village CPK this Friday, Dec. 1 and support La Vista with your friends and family! Don’t forget to bring in your flier and tell your server!

SENIORS

·      Seniors: It’s time to order your caps & gowns, graduation announcements and senior rings. Jostens will be taking orders on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 7:30 am – 2 pm outside of the CCC and during Family Night in the evening from 6:30 to 8 pm in the Library.

·      Buy your Yearbook Senior Ad now online or in the student store! The final deadline is this Friday, Dec.1. For more info, visit mchshoofprints.weebly.com under the SHOPPING tab.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      SENIORS: Walk-In Application Help is available in the CCC! We continue to have an open door policy every day and are happy to answer your questions. In addition, we have designated Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 – 6pm specifically for application and essay help.  We look forward to seeing you in the CCC!

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors.  View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE.

·      The CCC is hosting sessions to review A-G Requirements, the high school timeline and summer opportunities. Please visit our CCC Calendar, (MCHS WebsiteCollege Tab CCC CalendarClick on the date you’d like to attend) and sign up. Each session is limited to 25 seats, and only a limited number of sessions will be held!

·      AdventurePlex Holiday Camp Volunteer Opportunity Make a difference during your holiday break by helping kids play their way to good health! Volunteers will assist with fun activities such as arts & crafts, rock climbing, ropes course, puppet show, and story time. Holiday Camps: December 18 – January 5. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. If you are interested, please apply online at:  http://adventureplex.org/volunteerapplication by Friday, December 1.

·      SoCalRoc: SoCal Roc is now enrolling for the Spring 2018 semester. Classes begin January 29. The SoCalRoc Counselor is available in the CCC every Monday from 8:30 – 10:30 am. Please sign up in the CCC to meet with her or drop in for more information about SoCalRoc class offerings.
