STUDENT INFO

·         During lunch in Room 1 on Wednesday, come watch Springtime Noontime Theater to spring into the season!

·         Mira Costa Boys’ Lacrosse takes on West Ranch at home TODAY, March 27! JV game at 5pm and Varsity to follow at 7 pm! This is another big game, so PLEASE come to support the Boys’ Lax team and bring that COSTA SPIRIT! Amazing food truck will be there, so come hungry! Even if you’re not able to stay for the game, the food truck is open to anyone cruising by. Please don’t hesitate to stop by and grab a snack or dinner when heading home from practice, club meetings, etc.! GO COSTA!

·         Attention Athletes: The last collegiate signing day of the year will be Wednesday, April 11 at lunch (11:10 am – Office Hours Schedule). If you are signing with a college, please contact Ms. Gardner in the Admin Office to get instructions on submitting your bio and other important details. Submissions must be received on or before Monday, April 9.

·         Any current 10th or 11th graders interested in the Link Crew class should come to Room 20 during lunch TODAY to hear from current students regarding this course. Remember, you can be a Link Leader without being in the course. Today’s meeting is to share information for those interested in this elective class. Hope to see you there!

·         Current and Future Link Leaders: Link Crew applications are due THIS WEDNESDAY, 3/28 to Room 20! If you still need an application, come by Room 20 to grab one!

·      To all student tutors: There will be a final informational presentation on TODAY at lunch in the Small Theater. If you are a CSF tutor, your name on the list of tutors will be specially marked to indicate that you have undergone training. If you have attended a previous presentation, email [email protected] to be marked.

·      Attention students interested in ASB: We will be having four information sessions on 3/28, 3/29, 4/9 and 4/10 at lunch in Room 41. You must attend one session to find out about important dates.

·      All current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students – The Course Selection window is now open for all students.

The Course Selection Window will close for ALL students on Friday, Mar. 30. Please watch your MBUSDapps.org email for information related to selecting courses. You can also visit our website under “Latest News” and click on the “New Student Enrollment, Course Selection, Registration” button for videos and documents that will help guide you.

SENIORS

·      If you ordered Graduation Announcements from Jostens, please pick them up THIS WEEK in the Student Store.

·      Reminder: Applications for Senior Speech auditions are due this Thursday, Mar. 29 to Ms. Howerton in Room 16 or in her mailbox.

·      Attention SENIORS! Want to make sure you leave your mark in the 2017-18 yearbook? Make sure you are a part of the Senior Field Photo! The senior field photo will be taken on Wednesday, 3/28 at the end of second period! Details to follow. Hope to see you there and in the book!

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

·      Do you love to share the care and help out the community? Join the Share the Care Club on Fridays in Ms. Gesualdi’s room 331. Also, come to our Thai Dishes Fundraiser to support the club on Thursday, Mar. 29!

·      Help support the Carson Animal Shelter by bringing unwanted blankets or towels to Mrs. Clarke’s Room 15. The second-period class that brings in the most blankets or towels will receive a donut treat courtesy of the Animal Shelter Club.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·         College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE.

·         Local Event

Santa Monica College Super Saturday – March 31, 8:30am – 4:00pm. Get help with the following:  Math/English assessment testing (first time testers ONLY), course advisement, financial aid, special programs, meet with your SMC Counselor. ·         SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite, Business Entrepreneur, Banking & Financial Services, and Event Planning (NEW). Classes begin April 9. Natalie Hansen, the SoCalRoc counselor is available in the CCC every Monday, 8:30am-10:30am. Please sign up in the CCC to meet with her.

·         Summer Programs:

o  Featured Summer Program UC Davis Pre-College Program offers six programs in fields where UC Davis is a recognized leader. Programs include: Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Genetics, Language & the Mind, Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Food & Agriculture Technology, Coastal & Marine Sciences.
