STUDENT INFO           

·      Attention Students: Would you like to get free help from highly qualified tutors? Would you just like a place on campus where you can work and study after school? The Student-to-Student Tutoring Program that usually runs in the library will still be taking place while we wait for the library to re-open. It will be in Room 23 on Mondays and Wednesdays and in room 18 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These rooms will be open for studying and tutoring until 5 pm on those days.

·      Hello Mustangs! Make sure you’re getting your costumes ready for the annual Halloween Costume Contest! It will be next Wednesday at nutrition. Prizes will be awarded at lunch.

·      Join us TODAY at drop off to celebrate the amazing Costa community! Pick up a new MBEF yard sign, grab a cup of coffee from Two Guns Espresso and enjoy a donut hole or two before you start the day. If you can’t make it, lawn signs will also be available at the front office. If you haven’t already done so, please donate to MBEF and join the PTSAOur goal is 100% participation every Mustang benefits. While we hope you’ll be as generous as you can, all donations are important and appreciated. We hope to see you, and thank you for your support of the PTSA, MBEF, and the Mustang Community!

·      It’s that time of year! The 2018 Lip Sync Contest is here! Calling all clubs, sports teams, groups and individuals: Show us your Lip Sync skills and win a chance at PRIZE MONEY. Sign-ups start TODAY and continue through Thursday, Oct. 25. Look for the Dance Team table near the Mustang Mall. Show is Thursday, Nov. 15!

·      Noontime Theater at PM office hours in the Drama Room 1! Come to see some spooky scenes that will make you laugh, scream, and leave you wanting more.

·      Students who have already signed up for the 2019 Ski Week Peru Trip, and anyone interested in seeing Machu Picchu: Please come to Room 73 at lunch on Wednesday, Oct 24.

·      All students who are interested in playing Ice Hockey in the upcoming season (including returning players) should please stay tuned for an all-interest meeting with Coach Barry Dreger later this month, and the pre-skate or try-outs in mid-November. Please watch out for date and time of the all-interest meeting later in October.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

·      Attention All Costa Students! Club Day is this Wednesday, Oct. 24! Come by the Mustang Mall during lunch!

·      Come to the Support Our Students Club in Room 234 at lunch on Thursday to help make cards and care packages for sick/injured Costa students.

·      Attention Club Presidents: Please attend Club Council in Room 41 TODAY at lunch.

·      Come to P.A.W.S. Club in Room 72 at lunch! We meet every Wednesday. Anyone who wants to learn about service opportunities and loves animals is welcome!

·      Knock Knock! Who’s there? GOAT! Goat who? GO TO IMPROV CLUB! Meets every Tuesday (TODAY) in the Drama Room 1 at lunch!

·      Mira Costa Gender Sexuality Alliance meets every Thursday at lunch in Room 23, Mr. Zeoli’s room. Meet a group of loving and supportive people, engage in activist work to help make campus a more accepting environment, and raise funds for various charities and organizations.

·      Come to Drama Club! Every Wednesday at lunch in the Drama Room 1. For announcements and fun surprises, make sure to be there!

·      Math Club meetings are held every Tuesday (TODAY) at lunch. Come to Room 131 if you want to improve your skills, learn new concepts, and compete against other mathletes. All levels of math are welcome!

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

·      SENIORSVisit the CCC for College Application Assistance:

o  College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.

o  Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3PM to 5PM.

·      SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite (After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Business Entrepreneur, and ITCC-Welding. Classes begin Nov. 13. Sign up in the CCC & speak with a SCROC counselor.
