STUDENT INFO           

·      Hello Mustangs! Join us TODAY in the gym for Class Wars at lunch! Make sure to wear your class colors and support your grade. The game will be announced upon arrival. See you there!

·      TODAY we are conducting a school-wide November 2018 Mock Election.  Every student should take out their phone, iPad or laptop and go now to the Mira Costa website where they will find four links, one for each grade level, to vote online. A pop-up will appear on the home page instructing students on what to do. If the pop-up does not appear, the links for the online voting survey can also be found in the “Latest News” section, marked by an American Flag. Please click on the link and scroll through the survey to complete it. Students, this is your chance to let your voices be heard in this election. So please vote!

·      The MCHS Drama/Tech Department presents our fall play, The Laramie Project. Opening night is TONIGHT, November 2 in the small theater at 7:30 pm.

 

SPORTS

·      Swimming Tryouts will be Thursday, Dec. 13. Warm ups start at 2 pm, tryouts will begin around 3 pm.

·      One in 10 people worldwide live without clean water. Let’s change this! Come support Charity Water Club at our Chipotle fundraiser (Hermosa) TOMORROW 11/3 between 4 – 8 pm. No flyer necessary – just tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause.

·      Boys’ Indoor Volleyball Tryouts will take place on the following dates in Fisher Gym: Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm; Monday, Nov. 12 from 1 – 3 pm; Friday, Nov. 16 from 2:30 – 4:30 pm.

 

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

·      Math Club meetings are held every Tuesday at lunch. Come to Room 131 if you want to improve your skills, learn new concepts, and compete against other mathletes. All levels of math are welcome!

·      Come get some Ping Pong rallies TODAY at lunch in the Gym for the Pong Club!

·      Do you enjoy the soothing sounds of the ukulele? Come to Room 72 at lunch on Monday 11/5 for the Ukulele Club! Bring your uke and play, or listen and hang out!

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

o   Tuesday, 11/6 University of Alabama at 12:20pm, Stonybrook University at 1:00pm

·      SENIORS Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:

o  College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.

o  Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3PM to 5PM.

·      SoCal Roc is now enrolling for its 9-week courses: Adobe Suite (After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), Business Entrepreneur, and ITCC-Welding. Classes begin Nov. 13. Sign up in the CCC and speak with a SCROC counselor.
