·      The Mira Costa Student Store currently has a large assortment of Spirit Wear. We are open daily for students during nutrition and lunch, and by appointment for parents and other Costa fans. If you are looking for the perfect holiday gift, come and check us out!

·      If any students, clubs or members of the Manhattan Beach community have contributed to recent fire-relief efforts, please see Mrs. Claypoole in Room 40 by Dec. 5.

·      New in the Art Gallery: Come be surrounded by art in an installation show presented by Art 2. Open TODAY through Dec. 7 in Room 60.

·      Costa’s first-ever Spikeball Tournament is here! Sign up in the ASB Room during Nutrition and lunch TODAY through 12/6, $5 per team.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

·      All young writers! Come to Creative Writing Club Mondays at lunch! Now in Room 46.

·      Winter-themed Comedy Sportz HSL Match this Thursday (12/6) at 7 pm for $5 in the small theater. Wear your holiday-themed attire and be prepared to chuckle.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

o   Wednesday, 12/5 El Camino College application workshop at 9:27am (AM Office Hours).

o   Friday, 12/7 Santa Monica College application workshop at 12:20pm.

·      SENIORS Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:

o  College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.

o  Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3 to 5 pm. *Update* - The CSU Application Deadline has been extended to 12/15/2018.

·         Volunteer Opportunity – AdventurePlex Holiday Camps

Make a difference during your holiday break by helping kids play their way to good health! Volunteers will assist with fun activities such as arts & crafts, rock climbing, ropes course, puppet show, and story time. Holiday Camps:  December 24 – January 4 (No camp December 25 or January 1). Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older & commit to 2 shifts per week, Monday – Friday:  10am – 1pm; 1-4pm. Apply online by December 7 at:  www.adventureplex.org/volunteeropportunities
