STUDENT INFO
· MUSICAL AUDITION PACKETS! Come to the Woodshop (Rm. 104) or Room 1 for info and packets. We would love to see YOU audition for The Drowsy Chaperone.
· There are a few spots left in Ms. Choi & Mr. Piper’s Italy 2019 Spring Break Trip. If you’re interested and want to find out more about the trip, come by TODAY at lunch to Room 202.
· Come on out to support the Costa Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team as they face Loyola TONIGHT at 7 pm in the Redondo Union Small Gym. We’ll have VOX DJs and our amazing Costa Dance Team performing at half-time! Wear your green and gold, and grab some green and gold beads on your way into the game!
· The Mira Costa Student Store currently has a large assortment of Spirit Wear. We are open daily for students during nutrition and lunch, and by appointment for parents and other Costa fans. If you are looking for the perfect holiday gift, come and check us out!
· Art Gallery: Come to Room 60 to be surrounded by art in an installation show presented by Art 2. Ends TODAY!
SPORTS
· Swim Tryouts will be at 3 pm on Thursday, Dec. 13 at the Costa pool. There will be a makeup tryout at 7 am on Monday, Dec. 17 if you cannot make the regular tryout. Schedule: Warm-ups 2-2:45 pm; quick meeting at 2:45 pm; tryouts start at 3 pm. All swimmers who want to try out must download and fill out the 2018 Swim Team Tryout Form. You must email the completed form to Coach Ali ([email protected]) by 5 pm on Monday, Dec. 10. Check out www.mustangaquatics.org for more information on the 2018-19 Swim Season.
CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS
· Come to the Give Back to the Children Project (GBCD) Club at lunch every Monday in Room 352 for volunteering opportunities at an official nonprofit charity that helps educate African children with today’s technology.
· Attention All Clubs! Pick up Winter Club Day forms in the ASB room and complete them by TODAY! If forms aren’t turned in on time, your club CANNOT sell at Club Day.
· Mira Costa Gender Sexuality Alliance meets every Thursday at lunch in Room 23, Mr. Zeoli’s room. Meet a group of loving and supportive people, engage in activist work to help make campus a more accepting environment, and raise funds for various charities and organizations.
COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

· College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign-up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.
o TODAY, 12/7 – Santa Monica College application workshop at 12:20pm.
o Monday, 12/10 – California Aeronautical University (Table outside CCC) at 12:20 pm
o Wednesday, 12/12 – El Camino College at 9:51am (Sign up for an appointment timeslot in the CCC.)
· SENIORS – Visit the CCC for College Application Assistance:
o College Personal Statement Revision – Please bring in a hard-copy of your essay if you would like feedback from one of the counselors. Typically essays are completed within 2-3 business days.
o Walk-in Wednesdays for help with applications, essay revisions and to have your questions answered! No appointment necessary. Walk-In Hours are on Wednesdays, from 3 to 5 pm. *Update* - The CSU Application Deadline has been extended to 12/15/2018.
· SoCal Roc is now enrolling for the Spring 2019 semester. Classes begin Monday, January 28. Come to the CCC to sign up and learn more about the classes we offer.
