FACULTY

·         You will be receiving a ballot in your mailbox TODAY for Student of the Year. Ballots are due by Friday 3/1 at 3:00 pm. Place your ballot in Jim Beaumont’s mailbox.

STUDENT INFO

·         Sign up to participate in the last Art Night of the year! All students are invited to sell their artwork or crafts, or come to shop and participate in art activities. Art Night at Mira Costa will be held March 8 from 4 to 6 pm in the quad outside Room 109. All students, faculty and staff are invited to bring friends and family for a fun evening of art! Don’t miss out – sign up today!

·         The Neptunian Woman’s Club is sponsoring its 40th Student Art and Photography Contest for grades K-5 (art) and 6-12 (art and photography). Deadline for submission to the school office is Friday, May 10, 2019 before 3:00 pm. An awards ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 19 at 1:00 pm in the Neptunian clubhouse, Manhattan Beach. SENIORS

·         Cap & Gown: If you haven’t ordered your cap and gown, it’s not too late to do so. The Jostens rep will be here Wednesday, Feb. 27 during AM Office Hours and lunch outside the CCC.

·         Graduation Announcements: If you purchased announcements, the Jostens rep will be here to distribute them Wednesday, Feb. 27 during AM Office Hours and lunch outside the CCC.

·         Interested in being a speaker at Graduation or Senior Recognition Night? You may pick up an application from Ms. Sieker in Room 44 starting Friday, March 1!

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

·      Come to the Young Survival Coalition Club in Room 73 every other Monday to help spread awareness about breast cancer!

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·      Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our credentialed college counselors. Call 310-318-7337 ext. 5253 or email [email protected]. *Juniors – the Spring Semester is an ideal time to meet with a CCC Counselor.

·      JUNIORS – Boeing Internship Opportunity Mira Costa High School Juniors have a unique opportunity to participate in a highly selective summer internship at Boeing. If you are interested in applying, it is mandatory that each student and a parent attend the information session on Tuesday, March 5 at 5:30pm in the CCC. It is required that you sign up on Naviance.

·      College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

·         SoCal Roc – The SoCal Roc Counselor is available in the CCC on Monday mornings to share program information and help you register for classes. Sign up in the CCC to learn more.

·      Free Practice ACT or SAT on Campus

Revolution Prep is offering a FREE full-length SAT or ACT at Mira Costa – Choose either test. Saturday, March 2 at 9am – 12:30pm; Mira Costa High School – Rooms 14 and 16. Bring: pencils, calculator, water and a snack.
