STUDENT INFO

·         Come join Link Crew & ASB for a Movie Night on Friday, Oct. 18 in the Mustang Mall. We will be watching The Nightmare before Christmas. Cost at the door is $5, and if you purchase at the Student Store from 10/10 to 10/18, you will get a free snack at the movies. Tickets sold at lunch starting TODAY.

·         Don’t forget about the Mustang Moments Challenge! First submission is due the 25 – 28 of October. Check your mbusdapps email for all updates/information including how to submit, what you’ll win, and more.

·         Art Night is back for a third year! All students are invited to sell their artwork and crafts at the 3rd Annual Art Night. Sign up at CostaArtNight.weebly.com. There will also be food, music and arts and crafts for all to participate in. Art Night is on Friday, Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 pm in the quad outside Room 109. All students, faculty and staff are invited to bring friends and family for a fun evening of art!

·         Thailand 2020 Parent Meeting Part I will be held Oct. 17 at 6:00 pm in Room 234.

CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

·         Do you want to help feed the homeless on Skid Row? Well then, sign up to help in Room 131. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 8 am to 11:30 am. If needed, rides can be given.

·         Are you interested in building community and growing in your faith? Come to New Life Christian Club in Room 14 at lunch every Wednesday (TODAY).

·         We want YOU at the Youth of Uganda Club. Help us plan our Walk for Water 2020 fundraiser that helps raise money for a well to be built in a village. We will have many fundraisers and community service opportunities. We meet every other Thursday in Ms. Chen’s Room 17.

·         Do you LOVE to act? Do you LOVE to watch theatre? If you said yes, come to Drama Club! Every Wednesday (TODAY) in Room 1! Be there.

·         Come to the Drama Room 1 TODAY during AM Office Hours for the first Noontime Theater of the year! Get ready for laughs and scares in this bundle of spooky scenes.

·         Chess Club is taking place on Thursdays at lunch in Room 14. If you are interested in playing chess, learning chess, or improving your skill, this is the club for you. All levels are welcome.

COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER

·         Come to Career in Medicine Night on Oct. 24 (Thursday) at the College and Career Center from 5:45 to 7 pm if you are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Please sign up to attend at tinyurl.com/y69zv5t3.

·         Schedule a one-on-one appointment with one of our credentialed college counselors.

·         College Essays – If you’d like a CCC counselor to revise your personal statement or personal insight questions, bring by a double-spaced copy to the CCC. Be sure to include your name, email, and the prompt to which you are responding.

·         UC Application Workshop – Thursday, October 17 at 3:00pm in the CCC

Fill out your UC Application with the help of a UC Admissions Representative. UC Merced Admissions Advisor Janelle Cardenas will be in the CCC to walk you through the UC application. Please sign-up on Naviance.

·         College Representative Visits In The CCC – If visit is during class please get teacher permission to attend. This is an opportunity to learn about your schools of interest and meet the admission counselors. View all visits and sign up to attend on NAVIANCE. Please bring your school ID.

·         MCHS Students are invited to a special presentation by University of Arizona’s President Robert RobbinsFriday, October 18 at lunch (12:20pm) in the Small Theater. 

President Robbins will discuss, “What the University of Arizona can offer to you for your future.”  Topics will include:  Ensuring student’s success in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, How UA helps to develop adaptive learners and disruptive problem solvers, UA’s strategic plan for student success/support/engagement, campus developments, and UA’s goal for ensuring students’ success in future employment/professional school. Earn high school elective credits while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a variety of careers. Choose from classes related to Art & Design, Engineering & Design, Finance & Business, Health Sciences and Public & Consumer Services. Classes are free and transportation is provided for our 12:45pm and 3:45pm classes. Your SoCal ROC career guidance specialist will be on campus in the CCC Wednesdays during AM office hours to answer your questions.
