High Mustangs dr. Dale here we're set to begin Athletics again this is a very exciting time I wanted to take a minute to talk to you about it we're placing special trust in you as you go back and begin to practice with your team's I don't know if you know this but will likely be one of the first and certainly the first Public School in LA county to go back to Athletics this means a great deal I don't want you to take it for granted I wanted to have this opportunity to look you right in the eyes and tell you that you have an immense responsibility and we're trusting you we do trust you and I believe in you and we want you to get back out there and get and get active again we have a great Passion as your athletic administrators and coaches and parents and boosters to get you back out on the field I Don't Know chords out on the sand out on the road and allow you to work out with your team's again everybody's going to be watching us there'll be some who were rooting for certainly the other Schools are they want us to do this the right way and they're looking for us to get it done and we should have that responsibility we're Mira Costa high school and everyone expects trust to do it the right way now there will be some who are not rooting for us they want this to not succeed and they'll be looking to criticize and find fault so what I want is do your best to implement the accounting guidelines to the letter when your coaches direct you to do something you do it when your coaches direct you to stop doing something you stay doing it you follow every guideline and every Rule and every Direction with the upmost strictness we just can't have it any other way now we want this to seed so we don't want to threaten you in any way in a negative way but I have to tell you if we can't get this done we have to shut it down and if athletes are not following the guideline we have to close it down we're telling this to all the coaches and I'm now I'm telling it to you if you want to keep going you have to do it the right way that's on the field on the court on the stand on the road on the mats but what about when you're off campus what about when you're not practicing what about when you're just down the community I'm out in the community I'm down at the beaches I'm on the Strand I run through the neighborhood on my Jog and I see all kinds of things and it's a contrast to what I see when you're with us when you're with us in great admiration and respect I told everybody about textbook distribution and how every student that came through did exactly what they were told we didn't have any issues any resistance to having mass or social distancing you all carried out that project perfectly and so when you're with us to have all kinds of trusts and that's been my experience my entire time in their Coast is when the students are with us they do exactly what's asked of them my concern is when you're not with us so now they were starting back at flenix you have to be extra careful what I want you to do is only associate with the other athletes in your cohort just for a short time one month two months associate only with the athletes in your cohort that means hanging out just stick with in your cohort that's what I'd like you to do and I realized it with 1800 athletes hanging call with other athletes in other sport cohorts his kids is a lot to ask and it's probably unrealistic but I'm going to ask it anyway through Thanksgiving in holiday break just hang out with your cohort if you're down at the beach be with your co-worker now on the flip side we don't want to see any Reckless or irresponsible Behavior as it pertains to health safety so be down at the beach in large groups we need to put a pause on that while we try to do this Athletics correctly hanging out at the beach in large groups hanging in each other's houses in large groups with no mass and no social. we need we want to ask you to put a pause on that while while we try to do this on the school side we do reserve the right to pull any athlete we feel that has been Reckless inappropriate in their behavior how high I just want you to know that directly from me if we feel that an athlete's Reckless or irresponsible Behavior has put the health of others in Jeopardy will pull the athlete until we're sure but they're not a health risk to others and we reserve the right to do that I don't want to do it you have to know that our passion to get you back out and get you active and get you working with your team's again but we have to be conscientious of the safety of the whole so as we go back to begin this week keep in mind what this is for this is to get you out to have you be active is to have you with your team's your coaches and is to ready to compete we do athletics at our school to compete and you know how proud We Are of you all the time that you compete the right way and certainly we celebrate your victories with you and we are saddened by your loss is right there with you we we live and breathe it along with you and support you and are big fans I'm a huge fan of all athletes in that Performing Artist and every student who gets out gets out in front of the public on behalf of our school we care about you we want the best for you and we need you to be right there along with this with that same drive in that same passion in the same determination to do this the right way so again looking forward to it and I'll see you out there on the field with your teams and I'll give you a big thumbs up and in support and hopefully you'll know that I'm right there with you go Mustangs
