Mira Costa Drama Dept. Shines at 5th Annual JRAY Awards

A panel of professional judges adjudicated Mira Costa’s fall and spring musicals, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Anything Goes. Thirteen Southern California high schools compete in the JRAY program, including the area’s top performing-arts schools.
 
For Anything Goes, Mira Costa received awards for Ensemble of the Year; Comedian of the Year: Buster Baer as Moonface Martin; Comedienne of the Year: Danielle Kay as Bonnie; Male Soloist of the Year: Cameron Boyer as Billy Crocker. Mira Costa also won Best Show of the Day for a 5-minute montage from Anything Goes, performed at the awards show. In addition, senior Rachel Azafrani received a $1,000 scholarship from Fullerton Civic Light Opera.
