Mira Costa MUN Charges Through Edison!

On October 15-16 most students and teachers had taken a break after a long homecoming week. However, at the crack of dawn, Mira Costa’s Model United Nations team was in western business attire ready to debate at Edison High School.

As the first advanced conference of the year, Edison is essential to the success of the Model UN team for the rest of the year. Nearly the entire program attends this conference in order to practice their speaking, caucusing, and presenting. But as our MUN team is warming up, so are the other schools around the area, and everyone is looking to win.

Through countless amounts of research, nearly 12 hours of debate over two days, and a tremendous amount of effort, Mira Costa came out with the victory. Arish Vale, Walker Heintz, Ben Falley, Lily Kohler, Joe Hawkins, Hannah Parker, Keeli Parker and Emily Seth lead the team with individual Best Delegate awards to bring Costa the Best Large Delegation award.

This victory proved to be one of the largest in the last three years of MUN at Edison and it bodes well for the rest of the MUN season.
