Scholar Quiz 2026

Scholar Quiz brings together teachers, students, administrators, community members, alumni, and parents in one of Mira Costa's signature and most beloved annual events. This multi-day, Jeopardy-like competition engages 64 four-person teams (250+ competitors) in a bracket-style, single-elimination tournament. The questions cover diverse academic disciplines as well as pop culture trivia and current events.

Scholar Quiz 2026 will run from Monday, March 23rd – Friday, March 27th during lunchtime, with Finals held on the morning of Monday, March 30th. 

Captains can sign up their 4-person teams here, starting at 6:30am on Monday, March 9th. The first 64 teams to register will be notified they have a confirmed spot in the competition. We will also accept 4-6 teams on a waitlist.

This competition relies heavily on more than 100 parent, teacher, and community volunteers to help run the daily matches. Volunteers serve as readers, flag judges, and scorekeepers. Interested volunteers can sign-up here: Volunteer for MCHS Scholar Quiz 2026
