Scholar Quiz 2025

Scholar Quiz brings together teachers, students, administrators, community members, alumni, and parents in one of Mira Costa's signature and most beloved annual events. This multi-day, Jeopardy-like competition engages 64 four-person teams (250+ competitors) in a bracket-style, single-elimination tournament. The questions cover diverse academic disciplines as well as pop culture trivia and current events.

The 2025 Mira Costa Scholar Quiz will take place during the week of March 17-21, with Finals on March 25. 

Captains can sign up their 4-person teams here., starting at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 27. The first 64 teams to register will be notified they have a confirmed spot in the competition. We will also accept 4-6 teams on a waitlist.

This competition relies heavily on more than 100 parent, teacher, and community volunteers to help run the daily matches. Volunteers serve as readers, flag judges, and scorekeepers. Interested volunteers can sign-up here.
