Scholar Quiz 2024

Get ready – it’s almost time for Scholar Quiz 2024!

This year’s competition will run from Monday, March 18 – Friday, March 22, with Finals held on the morning of Tuesday, March 26.

Scholar Quiz brings together teachers, students, administrators, community members, alumni, and parents in one of Mira Costa's signature and most beloved annual events. This multi-day, Jeopardy-like competition engages 64 four-person teams (250+ competitors) in a bracket-style, single-elimination tournament. The questions cover diverse academic disciplines as well as pop culture trivia and current events.

For the first time in many years, last year’s champions – Devan Malik, Akash Mishra, Caden Coons, and Keith Daniels – will be looking to repeat and defend their title. But 63 other teams will be preparing for the upset.

Student sign-ups are first-come, first-served and will open on February 28 at 6:00 a.m.

This competition relies heavily on more than 100 parent, teacher, and community volunteers to help run the daily matches. Volunteers serve as readers, flag judges, and scorekeepers. Interested volunteers can sign-up here.
