Regular Attendance Is Essential For Learning

Regular attendance is critical to your child's education. Disruptions to your child's school attendance can have a significant impact on his or her academic performance. Your child should attend school consistently and should be absent only for illness or emergencies. Please do not schedule extended family vacations during school time.
 
If an absence is unavoidable please complete the form below. Required fields are marked with an (*).  You may be contacted by the school office for updates or additional information.
 
Already submitted documentation for this absence (note, email, submission through online form)? 
Please allow up to 5 business days for this to be reflected in Aeries before resubmitting.  Off Grounds slips and notes received on the date of the absence may not be processed before the end of the school day and may result in a notification, if your student has already submitted documentation, please allow a few days for this to be entered.  You can check in Aeries for status.
 
Absence/Tardy entered in error?
If your student feels that their absence or tardy was entered in error, please have them speak to the teacher as soon as possible.  Teachers are able to correct these within 3 days of occurance.  After 3 school days, the student will need to pick up an Absence Clearance Form from the Attendance office to have their teacher sign.  Attendance cannot clear these without teacher sign-off.

Please consider donating $63 per day for each student absence. This is the average amount MBUSD loses in school funding for every absence reported. Last year, we lost over $2,000,000 in funding!

Please drop off a check payable to "MBUSD," or log in to your MySchoolBucks account and pay through the Absence Donation portal in the School Store.

EXAMPLE: For a family with two children who will be absent for 2-days each, the suggested donation is $252 (2 students x 2 days x $63/day).

 

Confirmation Email is required and must match Aeries email address. 

Please note: email addresses not on file in Aeries will not be processed.  If you are unsure which email address is on file, you can verify by either checking in Aeries or using the email address that your Absence Verification email was sent indicating what periods your student was absent.  

To change the email on file in Aeries:

1.    Go here or miracostahigh.org and go to Parents->Aeries Parent Portal

2.    Sign in to Aeries

3.    Click on your name in the upper right-hand corner

4.    Click “Change Email”

5.    Click “Edit”

6.    You will be prompted to enter the updated email address and your portal password.
