hey Krista this is your vice principal Miss Wahlberg I'm here to give you some helpful information about the one full world of attendance procedures weather America or overturning biting Mustang listen to these trusty reminders in addition to some new policies and effect is here now what to do if you're late for school like this guy  very smooth never late to school be sure to stop by the attendance office first to obtain a light late arrival slip to get into class parent verification email is needed for arriving more than 30 minutes late  okay so what did you have to leave campus  always obtaining off grounds permit prior to leaving campus Austin permits require parent signature either in a note for a parent or Guardian can sign in person at the attendance office Window phone calls and emails or not what did for issuing off grounds permit  feeling sick  oh jeez not good didn't I need to leave due to illness sign out to the health office doctors notes are required after five or more consecutive absences due to illness okay let's say you end staying home you're absent from school unexpectedly for some reason absences can be reported in two ways a parent note or a parent email report absences through phone calls the guardian must verify the reason for your absence within three school days after you return to school again remind your parents that says cannot be reported by phone do you need to request an excused absence for very important business  no like this were thinking more along the lines of non Costa Sports competitions college visits religious celebrations or similar non Coast activities if you hope for a planned absence to be excused you need to obtain prior approval have a parent email the attendance office when did two weeks in advance please subject line request for excused absence and note that this is only a request it's not a guarantee  alright almost done sometimes you're at school but I have been marked absent by mistake teachers will need to sign a yellow Athens clearance form pick these up at the attendance or the front office and take to your teacher okay finally a couple changes you should be aware of for this year  as you know this year we started office hours what a great way to get help from teachers makeup test collaborate on projects and get worked in a couple of attendance matters about office hours soon there will be QR codes for you to scan in your attendance Wherever You Are remember students who typically finish after 4th. Must a through afternoon office hours on these couple days a month anyone leaving campus turn office hours will need a parent or Guardian to show up in person in order to obtain and off grounds permit on these days  you probably no attend what achievement are highly correlated ask this guy so we look forward to seeing you on campus as much as possible in the event of attendance issues a couple things note  students with six or more on verified absences for any class in each calendar month will be a sign to study Zone that's cool Saturday people try to avoid that so you can relax and rejuvenate instead additional absences receive increasing penalties that can be found in the complete attendance listed on the MiraCosta website and finally attention seniors if you accumulate more than 10 unexcused absences semester you'll unfortunately lose senior privileges like grad night from another festivities we don't want that alright Mustangs thanks for listening for a complete list of attendance policies and procedures you can visit the MiraCosta website click on students and attendance TGIF
