hello Mustangs this is dr. Gregor coming to you with announcements from the guidance office I will share some dates that are important so you may want to drop them down if they pertain to you  first we have adding and dropping classes and schedule or level changes  the last day to add or drop a class or to make a scheduler level changes October 9th make sure to put on your calendar an example of a level change might be changing algebra to trade to Algebra 2 or changing honors cam to a regular chem class again the last day to add or drop or make a schedule change is Friday October 9th this state will hold strong so make sure to meet your counselor in advance to discuss your option don't wait till the last day  tenth and eleventh graders next we have PS sign up registration will take place September 15th through September 18th at the student store  students can sign up at lunch during the first days of registration and on the last day because we have a minimum day  the cost of the test is $25 and checks can be made out to MC HS  this just helps to prepare you for the SATs and provides you with information on scholarship programs if you are interested so make sure to sign up seniors we are now moving on to letters of recommendation lunch meetings in the CCC many of you attended the first meeting your day in the CCC and it was packed the CCC counselor shared the protocols for requesting letters of recommendation if you missed it there's a sec meeting Thursday September 17th in the CCC at lunch if you would like to attend log into your Naviance account to register  send me play asking what is Naviance and how do I log into my account well Naviance is a website to help you make decisions about images and careers it is also a place to learn about the offerings in the CCC and to sign up to attend different events that will provide you with information and to make decisions about college  you can find Naviance on the MiraCosta website under the college tab the sign into your Naviance account you will need your username and password your username is your first name and last name with no spaces and your password is your birthdate excluding any unnecessary zeros in the month and day  if you need assistance with create account or using Naviance please do the counselors in the CCC for seniors the CCC counselors will be visiting your 12th grade English classes in the month of September to assist you with college application processes which will include your Naviance account and information about UCSD use common app and private schools you should be hearing more about this really soon  this way this into the MiraCosta College now night this is actually for everyone MiraCosta College knowledge night will be held on September 21st from 7 to 9 p.m. in the auditorium all students and parents are invited to attend after a brief introduction participants will select two 40-minute sessions to it that night son session titles include University of California Admission private college admissions out of private and public admission College Bound student athlete and much much more so make sure to come that night a few final things to share the first is our internship class The Internship class is available to all seniors it provides what's real world hands-on experience in preparation for post High School choices and requirements for the 21st century workplace  students will explore we are opportunities learn valuable leadership skills and also get work experience in local companies aligned with their interests many of you know mister change who will facilitate the class which meets outside of the school day once or twice weekly the class counts as a class. And a student schedule if you're in did please see me or your guidance counselor we are happy to adjust your schedule as needed next we have scrock scrap provides Career Technical education that is meeting today's job market demand students can take classes at SoCal Roc which count as a class put in their day  scrap classes are Hands-On and provide students with the opportunity to discover a passion which could translate into a well-paying where  it is a pathway that can lead to exciting career opportunities so come down to the CCC to get more information but not least the fitnessgram test taking two years of PE and passing the fitness test are High School requirements in 9th students will have the opportunity to take the fitnessgram test and their PE classes in March students who do not pass the fitnessgram test must continue to take PE and the fitnessgram test every year until they successfully completed at least five out of the six sections on the test if the student does not pass your ninth grade year they will have the opportunity to take it again in their 10th grade year if a student does not pass the fitness test in 10th Grade they are required to take PE your Junior and Senior year or until they get a passing score on the fitnessgram test mrs. Anderson and Mrs Aldrich will be heading up the fitness can you test for all students in all grade levels  well that wraps it up if you have any questions stop by and see us in the guidance office we are to help make it a great day Mustangs
