Booster Activities

This Is Costa - Model UN students host an information booth at this school activity fair which is held during the Fall semester. The purpose of the evening is to provide 8th grade students and their parents with information about Mira Costa activities.  MUN students, wearing proper Western Business Attire, answer questions from prospective students about the program. 

New Parent Meeting - Co-hosted by the Model UN Booster Club Board and the Model UN Program Advisors each May. Parents of Intro to Model UN students who have been accepted into the Advanced program are invited to attend. The Board and the Advisors explain how the Model UN program operates and provide information regarding how to register, communication, Ask donations, local and travel conferences, fundraising activities, & volunteer opportunities. This is a good opportunity for parents to meet the advisors, ask questions, complete their student's registration, and purchase/order MUN 'swag' (bowling shirt, briefcases, luggage tags, etc.)

Hometown Fair - Depending on the year, MUN hosts a game or water booth, or staffs the Beer Garden at the MB Hometown Fair. This fun event is led by a volunteer Chair and Committee who help coordinate the booth and secure parent and student volunteers to work shifts during the weekend. Parents and students may earn funds for their student travel account by working shifts at the Fair.

Parent Mixer - Fun social event held in the Fall of each year. Gives parents a chance to mix & mingle with the program advisors, Board members, and other MUN parents. Event is typically held at a MUN family's house and is potluck style with parents volunteering to bring an appetizer, dessert, or wine to share.

Mom’s Night Out - Casual social event held in early Spring. MUN Booster Club Board members are in attendance to meet & greet and answer any questions. 

Year End Banquet - Held at the end of May each year to celebrate graduating seniors. Festivities include a slide show, senior superlatives, awards, a photo booth, and dinner. Tickets are sold through the MBX website on the MUN Booster Club page.
